CLARION, Pa. (February 19, 2011) ? The Rutgers wrestling team saw three wrestlers take home bracket titles and four additional wrestlers place at the 2011 National Collegiate Open.

Leading the way for RU at zingos were a trio of champions; Billy Ashnault (South Plainfield, N.J.), Anthony Volpe (Miller Place, N.Y.) and Greg Zannetti (Edison, N.J.).

Ashanult used a trio of decisions to advance to the finals of the 141 pound bracket where he met up with Mitchell Port of Edinboro. In the final bout, Ashnault earned a 3-1 decision to claim the championship.

Volpe earned his first open tournament championship at 157-pounds when he defeated Hadley Harrison of Clarion by decision, 5-3.

Zannetti continued his impressive redshirt season as he earned his third open title of the season with a 3-2 decision over Todd Porter of Missouri. With his victories in Clarion, Zannetti improves to 20-1 on the season with his lone loss coming by a mere two points to Mack Lewnes of Cornell, the No. 1 174-pounder in the nation.

In addition to the successes of Ashnault, Volpe and Zannett, four Scarlet Knights also reached the podium in Vinnie Dellefave (Toms River, N.J.), Joe McAuley (Dunellen, N.J.), Brendan Ard (Watchung, N.J.) and Dan Seidenberg (Red Bank, N.J.).*
