STILLWATER, Okla. - The No. 8 ranked Boise State wrestling team suffered its biggest loss of the 2010-11 season, Friday (Feb. 11) night, as the Broncos fell to No. 4 Oklahoma State, 28-6, to wrap-up their dual schedule with a 10-3-1 overall record (5-0-1 Pac-10 Conference).

Boise State managed to wrestle the Cowboys (13-2-1) closer than the final score would indicate; only allowing decisions in the Broncos first six losses of the dual. Oklahoma State would score 10 points on a medical forfeit and major decision in the final two matches however, to blow the final team score out to 28-6 in front of 2,240 fans in Gallager-Iba Arena.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night came in a trio of losses for Boise State as Andrew Hochstrasser, Jason Chamberlain and Kirk Smith all suffered their first defeats of the season. Hochstrasser, who entered the week ranked No. 2 nationally at 133 pounds, faced the biggest challenge of the night in No. 1 Jordan Oliver.

Hochstrasser fell behind early in the match allowing a take down in the first period to fall behind 2-0. An escape in the second and another take down by Oliver in the third would help push the final score to 5-2, dropping Hochstrasser's overall record to 21-1 on the season.

Two matches later No. 2 ranked Chamberlain fell for the first time this season as well, losing a 3-1 decision to No. 7 Jamal Parks at 149 pounds. After a scoreless first period, each wrestler earned escapes to push a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation. As the two wrestlers neared the end of the first overtime period, Parks scored a take down to earn the 3-1 decision and the upset. Chamberlain also falls to 21-1 on the season with the loss.

With the dual win already out of reach, Smith would suffer a similar fate falling for the first time this season after being forced to medical forfeit at 184 pounds. Smith, who entered the night as the nation's No. 1 ranked 184-pound wrestler, went two scoreless periods against No. 9 Chris Perry before falling behind 1-0 early in the third. Perry recorded an escape just five seconds into the final period to gain the 1-0 advantage. With just 1:35 left in the period, Smith was forced to forfeit due to injury, falling to 8-1 on the season.

The night proved to be not all bad for the Broncos however, as Boise State did score two wins including an upset victory at 125 pounds. Alan Bartelli, who is ranked No. 16 nationally this week, scored a big upset over No. 8 Jon Morrison. Bartelli earned two take downs en route to a 6-1 victory over Morrison.

Adam Hall would score the final Bronco win of the night at 157 pounds as No. 2 Hall wrestled to an 8-2 decision over No. 16 Neil Erisman. With the win Hall is now the only Boise State wrestler still undefeated on the season with a 22-0 overall record.

Friday's dual marked the final one of the season for the Broncos, who will now turn their attention on the Pac-10 Conference Championships, Feb. 27, in Corvallis, Ore.
