EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern Wrestling has announced it will host Champions Night in conjunction with its upcoming match vs. Iowa at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, in Welsh-Ryan Arena. NU will be honoring a number of NCAA and Big Ten champions from its past, and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive limited edition commemorative posters featuring all of the evening's honorees and many other Wildcat greats.
Among those greats in attendance will be NCAA champions Dustin Fox (2008), Jack Griffin (1990) and Mark Massery (1973), along with Big Ten champs Brad Traviolia (1990) and Bill Pauss (1970). In addition, Ken Kraft will be on hand and recognized as a 1957 Big Ten champ and a Northwestern coach who guided dozens of Wildcats to the top of the medal stand.
"We're always proud to welcome back members of the Northwestern Wrestling family and recognize them for all that they achieved as Wildcats," said Northwestern head coach Drew Pariano. "It'll be a great night for them and our fans and I'm looking forward to our guys honoring them with the way they wrestle."
Tickets for all Northwestern Wrestling matches can be purchased at the door for $7 for adults, $4 for students, youth and senior citizens and $3 for large groups. For directions to Welsh-Ryan Arena, click here.
