TEMPE ? Following another successful tournament title run over the weekend, Arizona State University senior wrestler Anthony Robles has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for December 14-20, the site announced today. Robles recently swept through the Reno Tournament of Champions to claim his second tournament title in as many tries, remain undefeated and also secure the 100th win in his collegiate career.

Robles, the top-seeded entrant at 125 pounds and the third-ranked wrestler in the nation, ran through his opponents in the one-day tournament, scoring four wins by technical fall and one other by a 7-0 decision. Combined, Robles went 5-0 and outscored his opponents, 73-3, including an 18-2 technical fall victory in the championship final. To date, Robles has won all 14 matches he has contested this season, which ranks as his best start to a season, while those 14 wins in a row also stand as the second-longest win streak in his career, behind only a 16-match winning streak in the middle of last season.

Along with his second tournament title (he won the Cliff Keen/Las Vegas Invitational in early December), Robles also ran his career record to 100-23, making him just the 23rd different Sun Devil to reach the 100-win mark in a career. With three more wins this season, Robles will equal the 19th-best win total in program history with three other Sun Devils, one of which is his current head coach, Shawn Charles.

Robles has gone the distance in just three matches this year, winning 8-4, 7-0 and 13-1 (major decision), while adding two falls and nine technical falls, the second-most in a single season in ASU history. Overall, Robles has outscored his opponents 173-9 this year while adding first period falls of 1:25 and 1:49 to open the season.

The two-time defending Pac-10 Champion at 125 pounds and a two-time All-American, Robles has won at least one tournament title in each of the last three seasons and reached the final of at least one tournament in each of his four collegiate seasons.

Next up for Robles will be a dual against No. 2 Oklahoma State at 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, inside Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe. That dual will be the first of three duals at home in January, which also stand as the final three home duals in Robles? Sun Devil career (other dates are January 21 and January 30). Several of Robles? teammates will head to the Midlands Championships in Evanston, Ill., on December 29-30.
