2013 New Jersey Wrestling State Championship

What: Individual State Tournament

The New Jersey high school wrestling season comes to a close this weekend, New Jersey wrestlers will battle it out with a goal of winning an individual state championship. South Plainfield’s Anthony Ashnault can become New Jersey’s first undefeated four-time state champion. You can find live webcasts, results, brackets and more as the tournament is set to begin at 5 pm on Friday night.

The New Jersey State Wrestling Tournament will be held at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, Friday through Sunday. Over 40,000 people are expected to attend over the three days. The preliminary and pre-quarterfinals will be held Friday night, followed by four wrestleback rounds, the quarterfinals and semifinals on Saturday. Sunday will have the fifth wrestleback round, followed by consolation rounds for third, fifth and seventh place, and the state finals beginning at 3 pm.

2013 State Tournament Schedule:
FRIDAY

• 5 pm – Preliminary round
• 7 pm – Pre-quarterfinals

SATURDAY

• 10 am – First-round wrestlebacks
• 12 pm – Quarterfinals and second-round wrestlebacks
• 5 pm – Third-round wrestlebacks
• 7 pm – Semifinals and fourth-round wrestlebacks

SUNDAY

• 10 am – Fifth-round wrestlebacks
• 11 am – Consolations for 3rd, 5th and 7th place
• 3 pm – State championship round
