Miami Trace senior and member of the upcoming graduating class of 2011, Travis McIntosh (H.M. @ 215), recently signed a letter of intent to further his education and wrestling career at Campbellsville University in Kentucky.

McIntosh capped his high school wrestling career with a Division II State championship victory at 215 pounds on March 5 over Logan Erb (No. 11 @ 215) of Wapakoneta.

McIntosh was a four-time State qualifier and was State runner-up at 189 pounds in 2010. He was also a three-time SCOL champion.

McIntosh also won his first District championship on his way to the State in 2011.

McIntosh is currently finishing his high school baseball career (he is the Panthers? catcher) and he also played football for the Panthers.

?I just felt like (Campbellsville) was the perfect fit for me,? McIntosh said. ?It?s not Division I; it?s not Ohio State wrestling, but it is a NAIA powerhouse. It?s more my level.?

What about the educational aspect of college?

?I?ll probably major in criminal justice and be a probation officer like my coach (Anders),? McIntosh said.

It?s still a wonder to McIntosh that he was able to achieve his long-held goal of winning a State championship.
