Cody Krumwiede of Waverly-Shell Rock (IA) started the season as our top heavyweight and will finish that way after going 45-1 and winning his 3rd Iowa 3A State Title.* At state he would record 3 pins, then would major Brodie Berrie (H.M.) in the state finals 10-0 to finish with a 178-9 career record.* Cody dominated the USAW Junior Folkstyle National Tournament after the season, nearly recording a tech-fall against his opponent in the finals.* Krumwiede signed with University of Northern Iowa, and provides them with a great prospect at Heavyweight as he advances on to his college career.* As long as he can add some strength and put on a little weight, look for Cody to be among one of the best college heavyweights in the country within a few years.

Brooks Black of Blair Academy (NJ) finishes his sophomore season, showing flashes that he could be the next big thing at 285.* Black would display that he can compete with anybody as he doesn?t back down or show any fear, and always stays on his opponent.* Black won the 285 lbs National Prep Championship, with a 3-0 win over Terrence Jean-Jacques (H.M.).* Black wrestled the toughest competition and beat the most ranked wrestlers this season, winning the Walsh Ironman, Cheesehead and Beast of the East.* With Blair Academy?s tough national schedule, expect Brooks Black to continue to better and be the heavyweight to beat for the next 2 years.

Donny Longendyke of White Bear Lake (MN) won his 2nd Minnesota AAA State Title this season and went 43-1 this season to finish out his high school career.* Donny was invited to be on the USA All-Star team for the Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic, and won his match 3-2 over Terrence Jean-Jacques.* Longendyke has signed to wrestle with the University of Nebraska next season, bringing the tools and the frame to be a very successful D-1 wrestler.
