Hodgkins defeated three-time Wisconsin state champion Alex Dieringer (No. 1 @ 145) 7-2 in the 37th annual Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic at the University of Pittsburgh.
Dieringer, who had a 172-4 high school record and was the No. 1 145-pounder in the country according to hswrestling.net, was no match for Hodgkins.
Hodgkins was in control most of the way to help the Pennsylvania Senior All-Stars defeat the USA Senior All-Stars 27-18.
Hodgkins entered with a 164-8 career record after winning two state titles. He was No. 2 in the country according to the rankings by hswrestling.net despite winning the Super 32 Tournament during the summer and the Beast of the East Tournament in December.
But like against most of his other opponents this season when he compiled a 47-0 record, Hodgkins was dominant to help Pennsylvania win for just the second time in the last 11 years.
Hodgkins was the ninth Berks County wrestler to participate in the tournament and the sixth to earn a victory.
