One thing I love about my job is that I get paid to do what I love. I work from home, having done so since I was 19 (I'm 26 now), and using the one of the same techniques I am about to show you I've made a great deal of money.

Now, I don't want you to get any delusions of grandeur because expecting to make a million dollars writing about wrestling is nonsense, but done right you can make enough to pay a cell phone bill, a car payment, or even a mortgage. The lesson to take away from this project is that it can be duplicated to everything from other sports to basket weaving.

All of the tools to make a part time income talking about wrestling are at your fingertips. You have access to various wrestling forums, wrestling affiliate programs, clickbank's wrestling workout and mma training affiliate programs, and the most important part if you plan to get really serious - a free news editor at your disposal.

Making Money Posting on Forums:
The easiest way to get the hang of affiliate marketing is to sign up for the MatFish.com affiliate program and get your referral link. Take this link to any forum your a member of and create a link in the signature titled, "Buy Wrestling Gear" or another interesting title.

Using this method, the more you post, the more your advertisement appears. Being that you're on a wrestling forum already you couldn't get a more targeted audience.

Getting Started with Articles:

Consider this: The Matfish affiliate program is brand new, it provides the highest commissions in the industry, by far, you already talk about wrestling daily, and we're giving you the most search engine optimized wrestling platform on the planet to use for your publishing. By giving yourself all of these edges you're in a much better spot than someone going off on their own.

Examples:

  • High School Wrestling is very popular and covering major events like the Beast of the East, Ironman, and Clash are great ways to grab readers.
  • College Wrestling could also be targeted. Coverages include rankings, breaking news, recruiting information, and event reviews.

Blending in wrestling gear reviews along with the other content is a great way to generate sales for the affiliate program, too.

Writing Your First Article:

Picking the Title:
So, enter your publishing center and pick a title for your article. Be as descriptive as possible.

Example: If you were writing a thread previewing the Russian Nationals, don't just call the thread, "Russian Nationals". Title it something like: "2010 Russian Nationals Wrestling Tournament - Freestyle & Greco-Roman Preview"

This minor change will have a major impact on the number of visitors your article receives on TheWrestlingTalk.com

Writing the Content:
The article should be over 250 words, have proper punctuation and spelling, and be related to wrestling or MMA.

Adding the Ads:

  • If you mention products in your article, link to them directly using the affiliate program's "Build a Link" system.
  • Add advertisements to the footer of the article along with your biography.

Publicizing the Article:
Don't be afraid to share your article on other related forums, in your forum signature, or in emails to friends.

In the next article on this topic I will cover using Pay Per Click ads on Yahoo, MSN, and Google to generate profit using your affiliate link.
