Aaron Rodgers has had problems staying healthy for entire games. In subzero temperatures, I don't think this would have improved. It's easy to look at any game where the PAckers lost and say "they might have won with someone else". Or they might not even have made it to OT. Bottom line, Favre was the best QB on the team.
Not to mention that Rodgers has little to no experience playing in those cold weather situations.
Favre is a hall of famer and a true tough guy of the sport but outside of last year he had been playing average to poor the last several seasons. He received a free pass from the media and the fans despite making terrible decisions, throwing a ton of interceptions, and at times playing like a rookie qb. |
Ok, but it's what happened last year that matters most. He started playing within the system as opposed to "gunslinger" mode.
Its fine if he wants to come back but he has put the Packers in a bad situation, so its kind of lame that he is now saying he wants to leave because he does not feel welcome. |
The Packers do not want him back. They are bluffing him to try and get him to stay in retirement. Do you think they want to spend $12 million on a back up QB? So, if the Packers don't want him back, and they also don't want him to play for other teams, who's screwing who?
