We can't erase history. Language evolves over time. Look at the words we once used to describe people of color.
Keep on keepin' on with your campaign to banish the pinf*ll word from the vocab of current sportswriters, and it may go the way of the tailfin and "grunt and groan boys", becoming a quaint old relic.
