Blue -- are you really serious? You'd rather get shot (and likely die) than carry one? Nobody says you actually have to carry one, but what are you going to do if a group of crazed lunatics with battle axes, machetes, and guns start pounding on your door @ 2:00 AM looking for meth?
These types of home invasions happen everyday. The weapon that they may or may not have is not causing them to rape and pillage your family and dwelling. These are sicked twisted psychopaths with no moral base who kill at the drop of a hat. A human life means nothing to people that would kill for drugs or money.
Just me, but I would rather be armed when potentially facing down such killers.
