At the 2008 NCAAs, Penn State University made headlines by having two of its wrestlers in the finals --
Bubba Jenkins and Phil Davis -- with Davis winning the 197-pound title, and the Nittany Lions finishing third. Fifty-five years earlier, what was then called Pennsylvania State College made even bigger headlines. Not just for hosting the 1953 NCAAs, but also for winning the team title … the last Eastern college to do so.
