Do you suppose poor Congressional approval ratings (or the President's for that matter) has anything (not everything, but something) to do with the plethora of attack ads and commentary (talk radio, cable TV, internet blogs, anti-govt screeds by think tank operatives) that is all around us? I mean, anyone who's watched even a bit of the presidential race can see that most of the media coverage has been more trivial than substantive.
