My dad's in the "scientific community", he's a professor of meteorology. He tells me that there was- and is- tons of debate about climate change. I asked him a few years ago and he said there was no consensus about climate change, if it was occuring and, if so, why. Now he says most scientists accept that climate change is happening and that human being are at least partly responsible.

I fear that it might be the political, not the scientific, elements of society that oppose open debate on the issue, which is really too bad. Climate change should not be a partisan issue.
