I do not think that belief in a strict literal interpretation of the Bible, which denies scientific evidence, is an indication that a person will be open minded on issues such as birth control, stem cell research, teaching intelligent design as science, etc. I have discussed what I believe to be the roles of religion and science in society and in the lives of individuals, and have explained on numerous occasions how they can coexist. I don't want a President who doesn't understand this, and again, if I have misjudged Huckabee on this, my apologies, but even if I felt otherwise, it's too late to help him get the nomination.
Spider,

I understand that people may think about things differently. Strict literal interpretation of the Bible does not necessarily deny ALL scientific evidence. Maybe it would deny some scientific evidence, but we should remember that the Bible is full of literary allegories, allusions, and analogies. It was never meant to be taken by the letter on everything, and Huckabee has said that. Huckabee and his record as a governor have shown us that faith and government can peacefully and successfully coexist.

But, if you don't people hwo profess their faith, use their faith to gain voters, or use literal interpretations of the Bible, you apparently don't like Barack Obama. As talked about on NBC's Meet the Press, Obama has distributed fliers to Kentucky churches telling them how he is a good Christian man who believes in not only sitting in church, but doing the work of God, which is a literal Bible interpretation.

Remember th outcry in the media and by liberals when they thought there was a cross in the background of one of Huckabee's commercials? There was an enormous outcry about him pushing his faith on others, even though the commercial had NOTHING to do with faith and the perceived cross was just a bookshelf. Well, we see the hypocrisy from the media and from the liberals, because there is no outcry at all and Obama's fliers show him in church with a cross -- a real cross, not a bookshelf.

So, if you don't think you can vote for someone who has used a literal interpretation of the Bible in his campaign, you certainly can not vote for Obama.
