TheWrestlingTalk gets e-mailed the results from the NWCA OPC section just like Rev, The Wrestling Mall, W.I.N., AWN and flowrestling. Both Rev and TWM have used the results e-mailed to them. Themat.com just links to InterMat's results page. Earl posts dual results and links over to the InterMat box score.
Why do I still enter them into a separate system? Time. For example, I can't wait for Tom Brands or one of his staff to log their OPC info when the match just ended. I get the release from the SID or the live text coverage (if available). Sometimes folks wait a day or two to log this information. If InterMat relied on the NWCA results "mandated" database, scores would be 2-3 days behind in some cases.
That doesn't make for good "news" or a site with the most updated scores.
We even have, in our office, an document Flo agreed to in regards to results and stats.
The same results on TWT were sent to Flo, and none showed up. The stat releases which were released each week after January 1 were sent to EVERY major wrestling/national outlet in the country. The Associated Press, USA Today, the NCAA, all the wrestling sites and writers, all the coaches, all the Sports Information Directors ... I know many schools used these for additional wrestling releases. Trying to get the AP to run anything outside of the "big four" is a pain. All that information was also free.
Again, guess who was included in that list and didn't post them.
Just a tidbit about the results, which has been a constant point of deception and misinformation.
If anyone ever wants the real facts, they can contact us. To date, only ONE wrestling fan has actually e-mailed me about the baseless allegations tossed around and aimed at the NWCA and InterMat. It just doesn't make sense for an organization to get into debates with people who have the intent to deceive and slander without any accountability. | Hey, I'm famous. I emailed JB right away and he set me straight. I recommend actually emailing him with questions/concerns. He's a true professional and personable to boot. |
