Cutting too much weight or cutting your weight drastically just before a match impairs your endurance. Anyone who has cut knows that sucking for air in the 3rd isn't fun. Watch
Bubba Jenkins in some of his bouts this year. I'm convinced he's was cutting tons just before weigh in. I suspect Ryan Lang put on too much weight during the off-season and he had a problem getting down to 149, never mind 141.
If you are technically sound, have strength and mind your nuitrition, a great wrestler will succeed at his proper weight.
Nick Roy struggled wrestling to his reputation for 3 years at Michigan. He was always ranked in the top eight yet he never A_Ad. Hs last year he bumps to 197 - 25lb, 2 weight classes and A-As. In reality that should not happen, but it did. It suggests cutting too much weight means cutting strength and endurance.
