This morning on NPR I heard a story about guys who play baseball as it was played in the 1860s -- the early days of the sport -- without ball gloves, wearing long-sleeved wool uniforms, using the rules of the era.*
Imagine wrestling a match old-school style -- wearing wool tights and trunks (shirts optional), on a non-Resilite mat (perhaps in a roped-off ring like those used in some colleges in the 1920s and 30s), using old-school rules with longer 9-minute matches, 3-second pins, and maybe even some of the now-banned holds/moves like the keylock and bodyslams. Can you imagine anyone being interested in participating in this style of wrestling, the way some baseball enthusiasts play the game 1860s style? Would anyone want to see this?

* One of the participants pointed out that the baseball games were NOT reinactments, but actual games. As he put it, "When you re-enact the Battle of Gettysburg, you know who's going to win."
