Default Re: 2008 Cliff Keen National Duals Predictions/Results/Discussion

Steve Brown, and Grayson have been alternating in and out at 157, Grayson wrestled against Hofstra and Edinboro, so it may wind up being him.

Semi's
Minnesota v. Nebraska
125: Ness dec Donahoe 3-0 Minnesota
133: Reiter dec Jordan 6-0 Minnesota
141: Rivera maj Aleksanyan 10-0 Minnesota
149: Schlatter dec Burroughs 13-0 Minnesota
157: Schlatter dec Oliver 16-0 Minnesota
165: Glasser dec Dwyer 19-0 Minnesota
174: Browne dec Dretsch 19-3 Minnesota
184: Kish dec Jones 22-3 Minnesota
197: Brester dec Bronson 22-6 Minnesota
285: May dec Nord/Berhow 22-9 Minnesota

Ness and Donahoe will be one of the best of the weekend. Ness is still 2-1 against him for their careers, and he's been absolutely on fire recently. Does Donahoe still have the mojo that he wrestled with at the All Star? We'll have to see. Mack has been wrestling great recently, I think he avoids the dumb early takedown he gave up last time and wins an easier decision. Manny will do what he does. Dustin and CP should take care of business. Glasser gift wrapped that match to Dwyer last time, I think he comes with things a little better together, or maybe J sends out Saf since Glasser has been out recently, and Saf beat Dwyer solidly last year. Browne will probably beat Dretsch, Kish will probably beat Jones. I didn't give Brester the bonus point because he wouldn't have gotten it last time if Bronson hadn't gotten stupid and gotten 5 pointed late. Heavys still aren't coming along quite as expected, and May is good.

Iowa v. Iowa State
125: Falck maj Kist 4-0 Iowa
133: Slaton dec Fanthorpe 7-0 Iowa
141: Gallick dec Leclere 7-3 Iowa
149: Metcalf dec Mueller 10-3 Iowa
157: Sanderson dec Morningstar 10-6 Iowa
165: Perry dec Reader 13-6 Iowa
174: Borschel maj Scott 17-6 Iowa
184: Varner dec Keddy 17-9 Iowa
197: Bertolino maj Loera 17-13 Iowa
285: Zabriskie dec Fields 17-16 Iowa

This is going to be a close one. I think Iowa wins regardless, though, as I've turned two bouts over to Iowa State from last time just on hunches, and Iowa still comes out the winner. They just have a little too much.

Finals: Minnesota v. Iowa
3rd Place: Iowa State v. Nebraska
