Default Re: 2008 Cliff Keen National Duals Predictions/Results/Discussion

Moving onto the Quarters...

Penn State v. Nebraska
125: Donahoe dec McKnight 3-0 Nebraska
133: Jordan dec Haas 6-0 Nebraska
141: Strayer maj Aleksanyan 6-4 Nebraska
149: Jenkins dec Burroughs 7-6 Penn State
157: Vallimont dec Oliver 10-6 Penn State
165: Dwyer dec Rella 10-9 Penn State
174: Browne dec Erwin 12-10 Nebraska
184: Jones dec Bomberger 15-10 Nebraska
197: Davis maj Brester 15-14 Nebraska
285: May dec Laboranti 19-14 Nebraska

Someone is going to have to steal a win for the newly #1 Nittany Lions. One of the Dave's will probably be their best bet, but it certainly doesn't look promising for them. Jenkins v. Burroughs should be the match of the dual, and Burroughs is more than capable of beating him.

Central Michigan v. Minnesota
125: Ness maj Smith 4-0 Minnesota
133: Reiter maj Beebe 8-0 Minnesota
141: Rivera maj Kruger 12-0 Minnesota
149: Schlatter dec Carter 15-0 Minnesota
157: Schlatter dec Brown 18-0 Minnesota
165: Glasser dec Stewart 21-0 Minnesota
174: Sinnott dec Dretsch 21-3 Minnesota
184: Kish dec Sinnott 24-3 Minnesota
197: Michalak maj Bronson 24-7 Minnesota
285: Gritter dec Nord/Berhow 24-10 Minnesota

Another CMU dual, another win for Minnesota. That front five is just too good. 165 is a toss, and 184 might be since Kish has been gone a while, and Sinnott always wrestles him tough. Either way, Minnesota wins with their bonuses down low.

Iowa State v. Michigan
125: Kist dec Watts 3-0 Iowa State
133: Fanthorpe maj Diehl 7-0 Iowa State
141: Russell dec Gallick 7-3 Iowa State
149: Churella dec Mueller 7-6 Iowa State
157: Sanderson dec Marsh 10-6 Iowa State
165: Tannenbaum dec Reader 10-9 Iowa State
174: Luke maj Scott 13-10 Michigan
184: Varner dec Todd 13-13
197: Bertolino dec Biondo 16-13 Iowa State
285: Zabriskie maj Bleske 20-13 Iowa State

Iowa State wins regardless. Gallick is capable of knocking off Russell. More likely though might be Biondo beating Bertolino to make it 16-13 Michigan instead after 197. Zabriskie still wins with whatever they need at heavy

Iowa v. Missouri
125: Falck dec Pescaglia 3-0 Iowa
133: Slaton dec McCormick 6-0 Iowa
141: Leclere dec Hoehn 9-0 Iowa
149: Metcalf dec Wagner 12-0 Iowa
157: Chandler dec Morningstar 12-3 Iowa
165: Perry dec Marable 15-3 Iowa
174: Borschel maj Williamson 19-3 Iowa
184: Jordan dec Keddy 19-6 Iowa
197: Askren fall Loera 19-12 Iowa
285: Fields dec Ellis 22-12 Iowa

Iowa just has too much here. Jordan, Askren, and maybe Ellis if Fields is having a lazy day might make it close, but Iowa still wins

Semi Finals
#5 Minnesota v. Nebraska
#2 Iowa v. #3 Iowa State
