2nd Half
Iowa State v. Hofstra
125: Tomasette maj Kist 4-0 Hofstra
133: Ruggirello dec Fanthorpe 7-0 Hofstra
141: Griffin dec Gallick 10-0 Hofstra
149: Mueller dec Smith 10-3 Hofstra
157: Sanderson maj Bowman 10-7 Hofstra
165: Reader maj Patrovich 11-10 Iowa State
174: Lucas dec Scott 13-11 Hofstra
184: Varner fall Danz 17-13 Iowa State
197: Rovelli dec Bertolino 17-16 Iowa State
285: Zabriskie tech Guerin 22-16 Iowa State
Wound up a little closer than I would have originally thought just on paper. Iowa State has shots at 133, and 141 to make it an even bigger gap. Maybe Tomasette doesn't get bonus, maybe Lucas does.
Michigan v. Northern Iowa
125: Flores dec Watts 3-0 UNI
133: Washington dec Diehl 6-0 UNI
141: Russell dec Ettleson 6-3 UNI
149: Churella maj Ettleson 7-6 Michigan
157: Marsh dec Beets 10-6 Michigan
165: Tannenbaum dec Fay 13-6 Michigan
174: Luke dec Dolly 16-6 Michigan
184: Todd maj O'Loughlin 20-6 Michigan
197: Biondo dec Anderson 23-6 Michigan
285: Bleske dec Bauman 26-6 Michigan
UNI has shots here at 125, 133, 197, and 285. Michigan has shots there too. This one could be a close one, or it could be a whitewashing. Either way, Michigan's middle six carry them here.
Missouri v. Indiana
125: Escobedo maj Pescaglia 4-0 Indiana
133: Hernandez dec McCormick 7-0 Indiana
141: Hoehn dec Warren 7-3 Indiana
149: Wagner maj Kinser 7-7
157: Becker dec Chandler 10-7 Indiana
165: Marable dec Coughlin 10-10
174: Perry dec Williamson 13-10 Indiana
184: Jordan dec Bennett 13-13
197: Askren fall Faggiano 19-13 Missouri
285: Ellis dec Kuhn 22-13 Missouri
Another one with some good match ups. McCormick has been gone for while, and then almost got majored by Marble from Bucknell in his first go round back. Marable and Coughlin should be a good one, match up of two top 5 guys. Indiana would get a huge boost if Perry could throw whoever Missouri puts out at 174 for bonuses or the fall. That top end though for Missouri is just too good I think.
Iowa v. Cornell
125: Falck maj Perelli 4-0 Iowa
133: Slaton dec Grey 7-0 Iowa
141: Leclere dec McGill 10-0 Iowa
149:
Metcalf maj Frey 14-0 Iowa
157: Leen dec Morningstar 14-3 Iowa
165: Perry dec Lewnes 17-3 Iowa
174: Anceravage dec Borschel 17-6 Iowa
184: Keddy maj Moore 21-6 Iowa
197: Panasevich dec Loera 21-9 Iowa
285: Fields dec Hammond 24-9 Iowa
A lot in this one probably depends on the health of the Cornell guys, they won't win, but if a lot of their guys are out this one could get ugly. Slaton v. Grey could go either way. I think
Metcalf wears Frey out if he wrestles at 149, and gets the major, and Leclere might get him if Frey sucks down to 141. Perry v. Lewnes depends on which Perry shows up. Borschel might get Anceravage.
